Our Mission

PGSS Campaign, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to advance Pennsylvania high-school students’ interest in and knowledge of science and math through a 5-week summer residential program that nurtures scientific thinking, scholarly collaboration and interpersonal connections

PGSS is a rigorous summer program that allows students to engage in the sciences, be challenged intellectually, and develop personally. With admittance based upon merit and not tuition or boarding expenses, PGSS allows students to attend regardless of gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background.

Through private and public funding, PGSS runs as an annual program that fosters scientific thinking, scholarly collaboration, and interpersonal connections in our society while encouraging women and minority students to consider scientific careers.

"First and foremost, it is important for you to know that Governor Tom Corbett and I strongly
support the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences, as we believe it provides
tremendous benefits to high school students throughout the Commonwealth."
-- PA Secretary of Education Ron Tomalis

The PGSS Campaign is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
